    Why is the AVIF output sometimes a PNG?
    A few browsers cannot encode AVIF; when that happens the tool falls back to PNG and tells you.
    Does conversion remove transparency?
    Transparency is kept for formats that support it (PNG, WebP, AVIF) and flattened for JPG, which has no alpha channel.
